Apology to the Unknown Women of Iraq by Janet Vickers
Right now you may be nursing your child arms folded around him as he sucks milk from your warm breast, filling hunger with a bond.
Or you might be chopping onions braising lentils, washing clothes or thinking of being a grandmother.
Or maybe thinking is a luxury you can’t afford unmet needs in every room filled with shallow breaths screaming to comfort those you love.
Either way, you will soon be blown apart not for anything you have done but simply others have invested themselves in bombs and all you have is milk.
